In the September of each school year, each pupil gets to choose which committee they would like to represent for the year ahead. They choose between:
- Eco-Committee
- Criw Cymraeg, and
- Healthy Schools Committee
Once chosen the pupils meet in their groups at least several times a year to plan and discuss ways to improve our school.
Eco-Committee is run by Mrs Wynne and the members have set themselves two targets this year. The first is to improve our garden areas and the second is to reduce energy costs in school by reminding everyone to turn lights off when rooms aren’t in use.
Criw Cymraeg is led by Mrs Davies. They hold a weekly assembly and work closely to monitor our progress in achieving the silver charter award. This is following our success in achieving the bronze charter award.
Healthy School Committee are assisted by Miss Pritchard. They are reviewing the actions taken to achieve phase 5 of the Healthy school award pre- covid. This includes looking at our diets and other ways to improve our physical and mental health.
School Council
Our school council is made up of our older Year 5 and Year 6 pupils representing each of the three committees above. They meet with Miss Corbett in the days following their scheduled committee meetings. They discuss and add their pupil voice to all aspects of school life. Most recently they have been exploring and adding their thoughts to the health and safety issues that arose as part of our Estyn inspection.
Other Responsibilities
Young Bronze Ambassadors – These pupils work hard to raise the profile of sport in our school and get more people involved.
