First Aid Training

Class 3 took part in some First Aid training to learn the essential skills of how to save a life. Whilst we hope our pupils never have to use these skills, we were pleased to see them approach them so positively and seriously.

Gardening

Class 3 have continued their development of the school gardening patch. They are really enjoying taking charge of their own areas, have been recycling bottles to make fences and even brought in items to plant into as part of the Urdd Eisteddfod.

Class 3 have been having fun using the new microbits we have received in school. They have been working out how to make a step counter among other things and have been making a weighing balance.

Cardiff Residential Trip

Pupils in Year 4, 5 and 6 were invited to attend a 3-day residential trip to Cardiff. They had a wonderful time and were extremely well behaved. Red Nose Day 2024

The children dressed head to toe in red and explored lots of games and activities throughout the day. They also entered a competition to design their own red noses.

Coding activities

Class 3 have been learning all about coding. We have explored using the Lego Spike equipment and Spheros. We were even lucky enough to attend Reeco in Newtown to see how coding is used in a real workplace.

Honeypot House Trip

Year 5 pupils were invited to attend a 4 day residential trip to Honeypot House. The focus for this trip was wellbeing. The children enjoyed a range of activities including swimming and a trip to the Ironworks. During this trip they developed a range of skills like independence, perseverance, confidence, creativity and collaboration.

Wheelchair Rugby

Class 3 were delighted to be invited back to Ysgol Dyffryn-Trannon school. Pupils got to experience wheelchair rugby and got to practice their everyday Welsh language skills, whilst making new friends.
