Pupils marked Autism Awareness Day in school recently. The idea was raised by one of our amazing pupils, who not only asked that children wear green to school but made and sold cupcakes for charity too.

We were thrilled to be joined by so many mums, aunts, and nans to celebrate Mother’s day. Pupils served refreshments and entertained our visitors prior to presenting mums with artwork and daffodils.

The children enjoyed a lovely buddy afternoon recently, with pupils experiencing a range of activities with their buddies including reading and playground games.

Comic Relief

Pupils decided to collect loose coins for Comic Relief. They originally wanted to create a tower of coins, however, after a few collapses they made a new plan. With the support of our family and friends over £177 was raised.

Grandparent’s Lunch

We were thrilled recently to invite another group of grandparents into school to enjoy lunch with their grandchildren. A great time was had by all. Whilst other children made the most of the lovely weather to eat outdoors.

The school celebrated its annual Eisteddfod ahead of Saint David’s Day. We were so proud of all our pupils and the confidence they showed in singing and reciting.

Pupils enjoyed a day of reading and celebrating their favourite books. Pupils dressed as either a book character or simply in something cozy to curl up and read, and they dropped everything to read throughout the day.

All pupils enjoyed a buddy afternoon where they shared Welsh books with their buddies, played Welsh playground games together and played Welsh online games.

Hwyr Yn Y Gymraeg

The children in class two and three fully enjoyed their ‘Hwyr yn y Gymraeg’ sessions where they participated in a range of Welsh themed, fun activities.

Railway Safety

Class 2 and 3 were delighted to be visited by representatives of Transport for Wales, Network Rail, and the British Transport Police to discuss keeping safe around the railways. This is so important for our pupils as the rail track runs through the village. They enjoyed all the activities especially using the VR headsets.

We had a wonderful lead up to the Christmas period, with parties, performances, Prynhawn Cymraeg, a wonderful Christmas dinner, the community carol service and our Christmas fayre.

Children in Need

We are so proud of our pupils who took part in the 25 acts of kindness challenge for Children in Need. We already knew what super kind children you were but focusing on doing 25 specific kind acts has helped raise a lovely amount for Children who really need it. Well done everyone.

Halloween Activities

In addition to a fantastic Halloween disco run by our Friends of the School committee, pupils, across the school took part in a pumpkin decorating competition. We were so impressed with the number of entries and the imagination and creativity shown. It was incredibly hard for a winner to be chosen.

Handwashing Workshops

Class 2 and 3 were lucky to take part in a handwashing workshop which allowed them to understand the importance of washing hands correctly and showed them how to do so.

Seven pupils chose to enter the Cogurdd competition held in school. They all performed so well and designed, cooked, and presented an open sandwich of their choice.
