Cross Country

All pupils in Year 3 – 6 attended a cross-country competition at the Royal Welsh showground in Builth Wells. It was a beautiful sunny day and all children performed incredibly well.

Ice Cream treats

As part of our new behaviour incentives, all pupils have been earning raffle tickets for great behaviours in school. Prior to the end of term, we drew the winning raffle ticket in each class. Each winner then chose a friend to accompany then for an ice cream.

The children had a visit from the Welsh beatboxer Mr Phormula. They were amazed at the music he created.

New outdoor equipment

The school has invested in lots of lovely new equipment for playtime. The school council did an excellent job of sorting this equipment out and spent a great afternoon introducing it to their younger buddies.

A small group of dedicated artists attended an Urdd art club for 6 weeks leading up to Easter. We look forward to entering the pieces made.

E-steddfod

The school was thrilled to take part in its second E- Steddfod. Pupils represented the school in a range of categories e.g. writing in English and Welsh, maths, science, artwork, singing and recital. All pupils became audience members for the day watching the event live and we came 2nd overall out of 7 schools competing.

School Eisteddfod

We had a wonderful Eisteddfod on our return to school. Pupils from every class entertained by performing a range of songs and recitals. In addition, pupils took part in a handwriting and art competition with the winners revealed on the day.

Grandparent’s Lunch

The school has successfully held its 2nd Grandparent’s lunch in school. We were thrilled to invite a group of Grandparent’s to join their grandchildren in school. Huge thanks to the kitchen time in supporting us to achieve this.

Pupils across the school enjoyed participating in a range of book related activities to celebrate World Book Day. They dressed as either a favourite book character or just in comfy clothes to read.

The Welsh Whisperer

The school was thrilled to be joined by Andrew ‘The Welsh Whisperer’ on Friday 7th March. Each class contributed to the writing of our own bilingual Welsh song, which they then performed as part of an entertainment afternoon for parents. A great time was had by all.

This Autumn term the children have participated in sporting activities including cross country, a hockey festival and Urdd football. They have all enjoyed these activities and have behaved extremely well.

Open Morning

We were thrilled to welcome parents to the school for an open morning in which we were able to share with parents the progress made regarding our digital development school priority. Pupils were able to show spheros, rugged robots, microbits, lego explore and Adobe Express, among others.

Olympic and Euros Party

The whole school joined together for a celebration afternoon to mark the upcoming Olympic Games and the Euros football competition. The children represented their country of choice and brought in food from these places to share. They had a wonderful afternoon of activities.
