Open Morning

We were thrilled to welcome parents to the school for an open morning in which we were able to share with parents the progress made regarding our digital development school priority. Pupils were able to show spheros, rugged robots, microbits, lego explore and Adobe Express, among others.

Olympic and Euros Party

The whole school joined together for a celebration afternoon to mark the upcoming Olympic Games and the Euros football competition. The children represented their country of choice and brought in food from these places to share. They had a wonderful afternoon of activities.

We are proud to have made a relationship with Newtown Food Surplus that has seen us recently be able to do a Food share with our families. Not only does this help families but prevents edible food from going to waste.

Ny Ako Visit

The school was thrilled to be visited by Ny Ako, a group from Madagascar. They taught the children all about their country and culture through music, singing, instruments, dance and costumes. The staff and children thorougy enjoyed the experience.

Sports for Champions

We were thrilled to have a visit from a professional athlete, Alan Bateson. He spoke to the children about his sport and what it takes to be a professional athlete, before leading the children in a sponsored circuit of exercises.

Mother’s Day Tea

We were thrilled to invite our mums, nans, and aunties to celebrate Mother’s Day with us. Our older pupils served teas and coffees, whilst our middle class decorated cakes (cooked by our school kitchen) and our younger pupils presented guests with bunches of daffodils. All children recorded special messages for their mums and sang songs.

World Book Day 24

The children dressed up for World Book Day in either their comfy reading clothes or as a favourite book character. During the day they took part in buddy reading activities and a Where’s Wally reading hunt/challenge.

Eisteddfod 2024

The school celebrated Dydd Gwyl Dewi Sant on March 1st with our very own school Eisteddfod. The children completed handwriting and art competitions prior to the event and dressed up to enjoy the celebrations. The day included performances from each class and the announcement of all winners. Christmas Activities 2023

The children enjoyed a wonderful festive period. They enjoyed a delicious Christmas Dinner, created items to sell at the Christmas fair, visited the theatre in Shrewsbury to watch a pantomime, performed in our whole school production of ‘A hint of Snow White’ and enjoyed a party with a very special visitor.

We were thrilled to have so many families, friends and community members join us for our Harvest celebration in the Presbyterian Church. The children were very excited to walk down and perform and were incredibly enthusiastic.

Fish and Chip Picnic

To celebrate the end of the term, our wonderful kitchen provided a fish and chip picnic lunch. All children were able to sit out and enjoy the wonderful weather, whilst eating a lovely lunch.

Sports Day

The weather held off for us to complete this year’s sports day event. The morning saw all children competing in the high jump, standing high jump, long jump, speed bounce and javelin, whilst the afternoon saw our pupils take part in a variety of races in front of their families. The whole school took part in two transition mornings on Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th June. Father’s Day Event

We were delighted to welcome so many dads, uncles and grandads to the school on the afternoon of Friday 16th June. We had over 60 visitors in total who enjoyed a drink and doughnut with their children, followed by fun on the field. It was a brilliant afternoon and the children were so excited.
