Class 2 have been learning the story of Cantre’r Gwaelod alongside other Welsh myths and legends. We were thrilled to be joined by Jane to learn more about this story.
Class 2 were challenged to design and create their own tray bake. They did exceptionally well and sold them at breaktime to their fellow pupils.
Class 2 have been enjoying exploring as part of their topic. Not only have they effectively used various coding equipment including Lego Explore but they have used clay to make boats and have explored fuzzy bottles.
Class 2 have been developing their outside area and were delighted to use their new equipment purchased by Friends of the School and a Tesco grant received.
Class 2 finished their mini topic on the Victorians by celebrating with their very own afternoon tea. They dressed up for the occasion and sampled some yummy cakes.
Class 2 had a visit from the Montgomeryshire library service to explore what a Victorian classroom was really like.
Class 2 and 3 had a fabulous morning visiting St Gwynogs Church in Llanwnog. They had opportunities to learn about the parts of the Church and its namesake St Gwynog, they sang along to the organ, looked at the graves, especially the grave of Caersws poet, John Ceiriog Hughes, they decorated pumpkins and even rang… Read more »
Class 2 learnt how to make home-made lemonade, which they then sold on their stall at the school fete. The lemonade was delicious and very refreshing on such a hot afternoon. Alongside this, they made flavoured popcorn bags and sweet packs.
Class 2 enjoyed a visit to Explore in Wrexham during the last week of term. They had a wonderful day out and were able to experiment with and try out a range of science-based activities.
Class 2 have been busy utilising the outside environment to help consolidate the Maths skills they have learnt in school. Most recently they have been exploring the perimeter of shapes.
Class 2 have been practicing their reading of Welsh sounds, words, phrases and books. The older children were excellent in leading groups in their learning.
Class 2 had great fun learning about directions and angles whilst using robots. We like to male learning in every subject practical and fun.
The children in Class 1 and 2 have been enjoying forest school sessions led by Miss Alison. It is wonderful to provide the children with such a valuable, creative activity. As you can see, they really enjoy it too.
Class 2 have recently completed a topic ‘I wonder why’. They generated lots of questions about space and worked hard to find all the answers. They celebrated with a space themed party.
All pupils in years 3-6 took part in the Llanidloes cross country event. they were all amazing and performed super well. Those who succeeded and finished in the top 10, then went on to compete at Dolerw park. It was a wet day, but they all did a great job!
Class 2 have been busy practicing their ICT skills.
Class 2 worked hard to make and bake cakes to sell in aid of the Marie Curie daffodil day appeal. Well done class 2, they were yummy!
