Children in Need

We are so proud of our pupils who took part in the 25 acts of kindness challenge for Children in Need. We already knew what super kind children you were but focusing on doing 25 specific kind acts has helped raise a lovely amount for Children who really need it. Well done everyone.

Halloween Activities

In addition to a fantastic Halloween disco run by our Friends of the School committee, pupils, across the school took part in a pumpkin decorating competition. We were so impressed with the number of entries and the imagination and creativity shown. It was incredibly hard for a winner to be chosen.

Handwashing Workshops

Class 2 and 3 were lucky to take part in a handwashing workshop which allowed them to understand the importance of washing hands correctly and showed them how to do so.

Cogurdd Competition

Seven pupils chose to enter the Cogurdd competition held in school. They all performed so well and designed, cooked, and presented an open sandwich of their choice. Pupils in Years 3 – 6 had a great morning at the cross country in Llanidloes. All pupils performed well and behaved well.

Buddy Afternoon

On Friday 19th September, we held our first buddy afternoon of the year. The children had the opportunity to play games with and engage with younger and older pupils across the school, providing younger pupils with a role model and older pupils with a sense of responsibility.

Open the Book

The school always enjoys hosting our open the book assemblies. We are also thrilled to regularly invite Rev Monica, Peter, and William too. We are always grateful for their visits.

We welcomed our dads, uncles, and grandads to celebrate Father’s Day in school with a ‘doughnut with our dads’ event.

The school celebrated a lovely end of year summer fete on school grounds with pupils designing, creating, and running their own stalls. Thanks to everyone who attended.

Train Station Art Project

The school has recently worked in coordination with the local council, Transport for Wales and the Arts Center to create two panels to replace the ones previously celebrating the village at the local train station. Our Friends of the School Association have recently developed a community garden as part of school grounds. We hope this area will be used by our neighbours. The difference in this area is outstanding. Pupils were thrilled to support in its development.

Cross Country

All pupils in Year 3 – 6 attended a cross-country competition at the Royal Welsh showground in Builth Wells. It was a beautiful sunny day and all children performed incredibly well.

Ice Cream treats

As part of our new behaviour incentives, all pupils have been earning raffle tickets for great behaviours in school. Prior to the end of term, we drew the winning raffle ticket in each class. Each winner then chose a friend to accompany then for an ice cream.
